Fesco sets deadline for defaulters

FAISALABAD, Feb 4: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has given a 15-day deadline to government departments for payment of their dues as the latter owe Rs56.6 million to the former, it is learnt here.

Police department is on top of the defaulters’ list with dues to the tune of Rs11.7 million.

Other departments and their dues are: Sargodha Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Rs10.1 million; Esa Khel (Mianwali) TMA Rs9.6 million; Mianwali TMA Rs8.8 million; Madina Town (Faisalabad) TMA Rs2.9 million; Faisalabad city TMA Rs2.5 million; Jinnah Town (Faisalabad) TMA Rs2.5 million; Punjab irrigation and power department Rs2.2 million; civil defence Rs2 million; Punjab prisons Rs1.5 million, PTCL Rs1 million; Iqbal Town (Faisalabad) TMA Rs1.8 million and Khushab TMA Rs1.6 million.

Talking to Dawn Fesco spokesperson Tahir Ahmed Sheikh said notices for payment of bills had been issued to the defaulters, but they did not deposit outstanding amounts.

He said all departments had been asked to clear their dues within 15 days, thereafter power supply would be discontinued.

Besides, he said the company had introduced a package for farmers as electricity was being provided to them on subsidised rate of 0.75 Paisa per unit from 10pm to 6am.
