KARACHI, Jan 27: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that political parties and other stakeholders are being taken into confidence to ensure pleasant atmosphere for holding free and fair elections.

He was talking to a delegation of armed forces course participants of the National Defence University, Islamabad, which called on him at the Governor’s House here on Sunday. The course participants also included army officers from Bangladesh, China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Kyrgyzstan.

The code of conduct set by the Election Commission would be implemented in letter and spirit, the governor said, adding that all possible steps were being taken to ensure free and fair polls.

He also briefed the officers on performance of different departments in the province. He said the first ten days of Muharramul Harram passed peacefully, as all organisations fulfilled their professional responsibilities relating to the law and order.—PPI
