ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: Senior judge of the Supreme Court Mr Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi was sworn in as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan, on Thursday.

Mr Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar administered the oath.

Justice Abbasi will be the acting Chief Justice during the absence of the Chief Justice Mr Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar who is abroad.

Judges of the Supreme Court and attorney general attended the ceremony.
