Pakistan can help Saarc states in IT

ISLAMABAD, April 7: The advancement made by Pakistan in the field of Information Technology (IT) will benefit other countries of the region, like ours.

This was stated by the visiting Bhutanese Foreign Minister Mr Lyonpo Jigmi Thinley, while talking to Federal Minister for Science and Technology Prof Attaur Rehman in his office here on Saturday.

Recognizing the services of Prof Atta in IT sector he said, for Pakistan it was a matter of great honour to have a scientist of this stature who had given the country much needed jump start in science and technology.

Prof Atta apprised the minister about the initiatives taken by the government for the promotion of IT & telocom.

He said there were three areas needed to be focused on; development of necessary infrastructure, human resource development and enabling environment.
