MINGORA, Oct 22: In the first meeting of the Swat district assembly on Monday, 17 committees were formed for handling matters in different fields. The meeting was held at the Wadoodia Hall with Rafiful Mulk in the chair.

District Nazim Dr Mehboobur Rehman assured that the union councils would be provided equal funds for development schemes. He said the government was considering recruitment of teachers on contract basis to improve the standard of the government school.

He said the people of Swat were facing numerous problems and needed to be provided with sufficient funds.nitiation of the development programme. He said all the problems would be solved on the basis of merit.
