EU team Visits Kasur

KASUR, Jan 16: Former district nazim and PML-N candidate for NA-142, Rana Muhammad Hayat, has said that all the government machinery is bent upon ensuring success of PML-Q in the forthcoming election, so fair and free polls are out of question.

He was talking to a two-member delegation of European Union — Mr Robbert and Miss Sandra - here on Wednesday.

He was accompanied by NA-141 hopeful Rana Muhammad Ishaq and former provincial minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal of PP-184.

Rana Hayat said the former ruling party was apprehensive of PML-N and PPP but despite all rigging and efforts on the part of the district government, his party would take part in elections.

Later, the EU team went to Gulzar Palace, Pattoki and met former MPA Haji Sarfraz Ahmed Khan and Rana Riaz who expressed their satisfaction over the forthcoming elections as being fair and free and rejected allegations of the opposition.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed and seven others, including two children, sustained serious injuries in an accident here on Pattoki-Multan Road.

Reports said some people riding a van were on their way after receiving pilgrims from the Lahore Airport.

Near Pattoki Sugar Mills, the vehicle overturned, killing Muhammad Ismail of Okara 312-L on the spot. Abu Bakar, 8, Amna, 11, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Abbas, Abdul Razaq, Muhammad Husain, and Hamidullah sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the THQ hospital.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
