KOLKATA, Jan 15: At least 10 people were killed on Tuesday when a train rammed into a vehicle at an unmanned level crossing in eastern India, a railway official said.

The train was travelling from the eastern city of Kolkata to the Digha sea resort when it hit a three-wheeled van in a village 76 kilometers from the city.

“Nine of the victims belong to a family while another was the driver of the vehicle,” railway spokeswoman Archana Srivastava said.—AFP
