Candlelit vigil

LAHORE, Jan 14: People from different walks of life on Monday evening held a candlelit vigil and laid floral wreaths at GPO Chowk to pay a tribute to the blast victims and slain former premier Benazir Bhutto.

The mourners holding candles in their hands prayed for the departed souls and for courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss of their loved ones. Students, lawyers, politicians and civil society representatives were among the participants.

PPP former MPA Azma Bukhari, Zarka Butt, Amina Malik, lawyers Abdullah Malik and Azhar Siddique were also present.

Speakers resolved to make efforts for the restoration of democracy and elimination of terrorism from society.

They urged the participants to attend every protest against the government and condolence reference for the blast victims. They said it was their duty to play their role for the welfare of Pakistan.
