DADU, Jan 8: The taluka council of Dadu, through a unanimous resolution, demanded of President of Pakistan that to conduct enquiry into the assassination of Ms Benazir Bhutto under the aegis of United Nations.

The meeting was held at the residence of chief municipal officer on Monday, which presided over by taluka naib nazim, Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Council member Sohrab Solangi moved a motion which said that Ms Bhutto was a great leader and her assassination was an attack on democracy. He demanded of President Musharraf to expose the hidden hands involved in her assassination. He demanded to conduct thorough investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto under the aegis of UN.

The council members, including Anwar Mallah, Razzaq Solangi, Shamsuddin Babar, Rahmatullah Lund, Rajib Chehwan and others offered fateha. Chief municipal officer, Mohammad Saleh Rapoto, informed the council that furniture and record of taluka council was torched during the recent violence.

SUSPENDED: Police sources said that 90 police officials were suspended on Monday.

These officials were suspended for their failure to protect banks and government properties during violence. They included five sub-inspectors, 20 head constables and 65 constables. Most of them were deployed at banks and government offices for security duty.
