LAHORE, Jan 7: Factory Area police on Monday registered a case against 42 nominated and 50 unidentified Pakistan People’s Party activists, who had allegedly damaged and set ablaze Pakistan Muslim League-Q banners and offices on Dec 27 following assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
A case under sections 356, 427, 148 and 159 of the PPC and 16 MPO was registered on the complaint of PML-Q leader from PP-159 Malik Muhammad Boota.
Those who were nominated in the case were Kashif Ali, Muhammad Arshad, Jabru Khan, Taj Din, Malik Khalid, Khalid Qureshi, Rana Mushtaq, Zulfikar Ali,
Amanat Ali, Akbar Qureshi, and others.
Arrest of any political worker was not reported till the filing of this report.
Lahore PPP president Haji Azizur Rehman Chan told Dawn by phone that the police had arrested 10 activists from PP-152 constituency, Naseerabad police area. He said their bails pleas would be filed on Tuesday.
