LAHORE, April 3: The Supreme Court of Pakistan restraining adhoc committee of Pakistan Amateurs Basketball Federation (non-professional) from holding its elections directed the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to hold elections before April 14 according to the lists prepared by the adhoc committee.
The Deputy Attorney General, Sher Zaman Khan appearing before the court placed all the original records and said that the constitution of the said committee decision was taken by the Pakistan Sports Board in its meeting headed by the Federal Sports Minister.
He informed the court that General Srafaraz was appointed chairman of the adhoc committee with the task to hold countrywide elections of the federation from club to federal level. He further informed that all elections have been completed excluding federal elections which would be held before April 14.
The petition was filed by ex-secretary general of the federation, Khalid Bashir Bhatti through his counsel Saeed Ansari.—APP
