SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 4: An ASI and a dacoit were killed in an encounter in the limits of Factory Area police station on Friday.

Reports reaching here said that a police party, led by ASI Sadiq, raided a nearby locality of Nizampura to arrest the four culprits. Getting wind of the police arrival, outlaws opened fire on them which was returned. In the ensuing shootout, the ASI and a dacoit were killed instantly. Later, rest of the three outlaws managed to escape from the scene.

Funeral prayers of the deceased ASI will be held on Saturday (today) in the Sheikhupura Police Lines.
