Wheat procurement centres demanded

Published April 4, 2002

MIRPURKHAS, April 3: Wheat growers are compelled to sell their produce at less than the rate fixed by the government due to non-procurement by the provincial food department as a result of which they were incurring heavy losses.

Harvesting of wheat crop was continuing in the district, while that already harvested crop has reached the market.

The growers were expecting that the government would procure their wheat at the fixed rate. But, so far, it has not been doing so.
