Robbers set ablaze injured accomplice

SIALKOT, Jan 2: Three dacoits set their injured accomplice on fire after committing a robbery at Thatha Laakhi-Gojra, Daska tehsil, here on Tuesday night.

According to an FIR lodged with the Bambaanwala police station, four dacoits snatched cash and valuables from motorists Nadeem Butt, Asif Butt and Ehsan Elahi. One of the robbers was run over by the villagers’ car and sustained injuries. Some villagers started chasing the dacoits who took their injured accomplice to a nearby outhouse, set him on fire at an empty cattle room and managed their escape. After some time, villagers reached there and found the injured robber who succumbed to his burn injuries.

He was identified as Shahid alias Rana of Gojra village, Daska. The robbers left a chit at the outhouse, saying that they had set their injured companion ablaze to avert arrest. — Correspondent
