RAHIM YAR KHAN, April 2: The representatives of the local Anjuman-i-Tajran grumbled over absence of basic civic amenities in the district.

The traders called on tehsil Nazim Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar a couple of days back and complained of broken roads, improper sanitation, shortage of irrigation water and encroachments.

Anjuman Secretary-General Chaudhry Muhammad Jameel said the government had increased rates of electricity, gas and petrol many a times, forgetting the relief to people.

The traders urged the government to re-examine the maps of old buildings and not to demolish them.

Expressing concern over growing crime rate, they said the departments concerned should play their roles in finding a remedy.

They also demanded that the government should impose agriculture tax on the lands at Rs5,000 per 20-acre.
