TOBA TEK SINGH, April 2: A new telephone exchange will be installed in Chak 349-GB.
This was stated here on Tuesday by district Nazim Chaudhry Ashfaq while addressing a gathering of farmers in Chak 294-GB.
He said residents of Chaks 349-GB, 294-GB and 350-GB would be connected to the national network after the installation of exchange.
Mr Ashfaq announced that Rs5 million would be provided to the village for its development and promised that the girls primary school would be upgraded to middle standard from current academic year.
A link road from Chak 294-GB to Chak 349-GB would be funded through sugar cess fund. Two new electric transformers would also be installed in the village, he added.
Later, he inspected an under construction road between Chaks 321-GB and 322-GB and directed the officials concerned to ensure in time completion of the project with use of standard material.
When farmers complained that more than 600 acres of state land was occupied by land grabbers, the Nazim assured them that legal action would be taken after an inquiry.
Meanwhile, Mr Ashfaq told the participants of annual function of the Government Farid Bakhsh College, Pirmahal, that 733 computes were being provided to the schools in the district.
