LUSAKA, Dec 29: Zambia’s international reserves hit over a billion dollars this year, the highest figure in the country’s history, the central bank governor announced on Saturday.
Caleb Fundanga said Zambia had recorded $1.1 billion in foreign reserves up from $706m that the country accumulated in 2006.
He said Zambia’s economy is expected to grow by 6.2 per cent in 2008, while the country’s inflation will remain at the single-digit level. —APP
