HYDERABAD, April 2: The secondary school teachers have warned to launch a protest movement if the government does not take any action against the corrupt and inefficient officials of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Hyderabad, within three days.

The decision was taken at an urgent meeting of the action committee of the Government Secondary Teachers Association Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas on Monday.

The meeting was held at the government high school society Hyderabad and presided over by Jan Mohammad I. Parhiar.

The meeting accused the Board officials of violating all settled policies and principles and alleged that the district officer (education secondary) Hyderabad, had ignored the seniority list and appointed his favourites for conducting the practical examinations of class IX and class X.

The meeting claimed that the names of those who had been deputed on these duties were neither included in the seniority list nor were they eligible under the rotation programme. The meeting noted that this had been done inspite of the fact that the action committee had briefed the chairman of the Board about the anomalies of previous years before the annual examinations 2002.

The meeting further claimed that like his predecessors, the present chairman had also promised that the previous practices would not be repeated but he did not keep his promise.

The meeting appealed to the governor of Sindh to take strict action against the officials of the Hyderabad Secondary Board and cancel the illegal duties of the favourites.

SEA: On the call of the “Sindh Employees Alliance” (SEA) the teachers and other government employees continued their hunger strike in the Sachal Sarmast college for the 13th consecutive day here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the central action committee has announced that a protest sit-in will be staged at Sukkur on April 10 to protest against the bureaucracy of the Sindh education department and its anti teachers and anti students polices.

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association announced that a meeting of principals and professors of Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions will be held on April 4, at the government Sachal Sarmast college, Hyderabad, to evolve a strategy for filing a petition against the officials of education department in the Sindh High Court.
