Law quits as captain

BRISBANE (Australia), April 1: Stuart Law resigned as captain of the Australian domestic champions Queensland Monday, a day before he leaves for England to play county cricket for Lancashire.

Queensland has won five out of the past eight first-class titles in Australia, including three in a row. Law said family commitments meant he could no longer give total concentration to the post, although he will continue to play for Queensland next year.

“It’s been a fantastic ride, a fantastic eight years in my life,” Law said.
