LAHORE, Dec 23: MMA president Qazi Husain Ahmed has called upon the people to boycott the ‘fraud’ elections being held under the US supervision to strengthen one-man rule in the country.

Addressing the Eidul Azha congregation at the Mansoora Jamia Mosque here, he said the class of exploiters ruling the country had sold the national sovereignty to the US. None of the parties participating in elections had expressed any intention to liberate the country from the US domination in its manifesto.

President George Bush and other US officials continued to hold out threats of direct military intervention in the country but the rulers never bothered to take notice of the same and took pride in being its frontline allies against terrorism instead.

He said the US itself was the biggest terrorist of the world which had killed hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan and was in trouble there now.

It was not in a position to stay in Afghanistan without the support of Pakistan government. All the countries in the world were fed up with the US policies of intervention and violence. It had also thrust Israel on Muslim world which continued to shed blood of the Muslims everyday.

He said the spirit of sacrifice existed only among the common run of the people who had been deprived of facilities like clean drinking water, education and healthcare.
