QUETTA, Dec 17: A boy was killed and seven other people, including a police officer, suffered injuries in an explosion in a parking lot along the Abdul Sattar road on Monday.

Police said the home-made device had been fixed to a bicycle.

Sources said the explosion rocked an adjacent shopping centre and created panic in the area.

The deceased was identified as 15-year-old Rehmatullah.

The injured, Mohammad Musa, Nasarullah, Ahmed Ali, Syed Abdul Qayyum, Shafiq Ahmed, Naeem Achakzai and Mohammad Ali

Durrani, the police officer, were taken to the civil hospital.
