LAHORE, Dec 16: The Pakistan Medical Association has protested the victimisation of a doctor at the hands of Social Security Hospital’s commissioner.
In a statement on Sunday, PMA Punjab president and general secretary Dr Zahid Muhauddin and Dr Izhar Ahmed said that Social Security Hospitals Commissioner Capt Tariq Masood (retired) had suspended Dr Ashraf Nizami from service on personal grudge.
They urged the caretaker chief minister and the chief secretary to take notice of the irregularities committed by the commissioner.
PIC: An additional building of out-patient department (OPD) of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology was being constructed at a cost of Rs160 million, Medical Superintendent Dr Riaz Ahmad said on Sunday.
He said that 80-bed ICU had been set up at Jillani Block and four additional operation theatres had also been completed. He said that modern CT Scan machine had been made functional at a cost of Rs80 million while MRI machines would be installed at a cost of Rs180 million. —Staff Reporter
