PESHAWAR, March 31: Levi Strauss and Tuni Han of Unesco met Information and Archives Minister Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani and appreciated the efforts made by the NWFP government for cultural preservation.

The minister explained the steps taken by the government for protecting cultural heritage. The UN team assured the minister that the UNDP and Unesco would supplement the government efforts.

The team took keen interest in the historic sites of Peshawar, saying these were of unique importance and efforts should be made to preserve them.
