HYDERABAD, March 31: The chairman of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Bashir Khan Qureshi, and a leader of Jeay Sindh Students Federation, Kehar Ansari, were shifted to Karachi late Saturday night.

Another prisoner Moeenuddin alias Munna was also shifted from the Nara jail to a prison in Karachi.

They have been shifted under the orders of Sindh IG, prisons, Brig Nisar Mahar.

Deputy superintendent, Special Prison, Nara, Akhtar Hussain, told Dawn on phone that Qureshi was shifted to Landhi jail, Karachi.

Ansari was also shifted from Hyderabad Central Jail to Karachi Central Prison, a jail official confirmed.

A special team of the IG, prisons, comprising two jail officials from Karachi, had paid a surprise visit to the Nara jail and found Munna in possession of a cellular phone. Munna had been sent to the jail on the charges of drug trafficking.

ARRESTED: During the on-going campaign against criminals, the Hyderabad Region police arrested 25 absconders and three criminals, reports our Bureau.
