MIRPURKHAS, Dec 4: Fo-rmer Sindh chief minister and provincial president of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said the party will field no candidate on the PS-64 (Mirpurkhas City) but will support the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate under an agreement.
Arbab, talking to journalists here on Monday at the residence of District President PML, Khair Mohammad Bhurgari, said the PPP had failed to get required number of candidates in Sindh.
He said opponents always allege rigging as the defeated had no other excuse to make.
He said talks were held for an alliance with the PML-F, the MQM, the JUI-F and the PML-Q and raised the question as to why it can be held only in Balochistan and not Sindh.
Regarding the alliance between Samejo and Rahimoon communities against him, he said that there still was a month left for elections.
The PML supporters, including Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi and Kishan Chand Parvani raised slogans for their leaders.
Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim held meetings with district president PML-Q Khair Mohammad Bhurgari, Kishan Chand Parvani, Khadim Ali Shah, Haji Mohammad Saleem, Mir Waqar, Jameel Bhurgari, Muhammad Khan Laghari, Mir Jan Mohammad, and workers and office-bearers of six talukas of the district.
