LAHORE, Dec 3: A member of the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) was found shot dead at his house in South Cantonment police precinct early on Monday.

According to the family, Malik Muhammad Ejaz allegedly committed suicide because of heavy debts in the business. But the police suspect that one of the family members killed him.

Police said they had received a Rescue 15 call at around 4am about a bullet injury case in a house in Cavalry Ground. After reaching there they found Ejaz lying injured in his room.

He was rushed to Services Hospital to be pronounced dead.

His son, Zohaib Ejaz, said he had heard a bullet shot and after reaching father’s room found him injured.

He said his father might have killed himself after having failed to pay his debts.

Police investigators suspected that the killer had shot at him from point blank range to prove the incident a suicide.

Ejaz is survived by two daughters and as many sons. Another son, Asad, had to leave for London on Monday.

The police shifted the body for autopsy and registered a murder case against unidentified people on the compliant of Zohaib.

SUICIDE: A 20-year-old daughter of a police inspector allegedly shot her self to death after being snubbed by her father over a trivial issue in Hunjarwal area early on Monday.

Police said according to Inspector Anwer, of Rana Town, his daughter Ruqaya, a BA student, had a minor quarrel with her paternal cousin Fauzia on Sunday night.

He snubbed her over the issue which she took her to heart.

At around 2am, Ruqaya, who was asleep along with her sister in a room, picked her father’s licensed pistol and killed her to death.

She was rushed to a near-by hospital where she was pronounced dead by doctors.

Anwer, who is Iqbal Town police investigation in charge, has six children.

After Anwer refused to hold autopsy, the police handed over the body to the family.
