LAHORE, Nov 28: Describing fair and impartial general elections as the only way to resolve the crisis, the Markazi Shoora of Jamaat-i-Islami has threatened to boycott the polls along with APDM parties in case the five conditions laid down by it are not met for ensuring transparency.

According to resolutions adopted at the conclusion of the two-day Shoora meeting here on Wednesday, elections would be only a fraud without the restoration of the Constitution after lifting of emergency.

The withdrawal of the PCO was described as the first condition, restoration of the superior judiciary to its pre-Nov 3 position with reinstatement of CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and all other judges who had not taken oath under the PCO was described as the second condition.
