BADIN, Nov 23: In order to improve health services for the school going children and expand community technology and learning centres, the Badin district government signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, District Nazim Ali Anwar Halepoto said that the students should be imparted education in healthcare and prevention of diseases and added that by adopting preventive measures, a large number of students would remain free from diseases.
The meeting was attended by DCO Badin Ahmed Ali Khokhar, District General Manager NCHD, Rafique Rehman Memon, EDO Revenue Mohammad Sadiq Rajar and EDO Community Development Abdul Hameed Abro.
The NCHD official stated that the commission, after joining hands with the district government, would get screened 160,000 students of 3,130 government primary schools for five diseases viz. skin, ear, dental, throat and stomach and added that those found affected of any of the diseases would be provided treatment accordingly. He said NCHD had already provided optics to 926 children under community support programme.
GIFT: Badin Taluka Nazim Mohammad Hashim Jamali has been presented the gift of a 600-year-old sword in appreciation of his efforts to carry out development works at the tomb of Dodo Soomro, a historical figure of Sindh.
The gift was presented by retired Justice Nazir Ahmed Soomro at a ceremony held at the district council hall here on Thursday.
