SHIKARPUR, Nov 20: Police arrested four alleged bandits involved in the killing of an army man on Tuesday.
The soldier had died after seven highwaymen opened firing on a Jacobabad-bound wagon. The wagon was coming from Sukkur on Saturday night near Dost wah.
Soon after the incident, heavy contingents of police, called from different police stations, followed the footprints of the bandits and succeeded to find the accused hiding in the bushes near the house of Ghazi Katohar.
An encounter took place between the outlaws and the police as a result of which four of the seven accused identified as Ghazi, Abdul Ghafoor alias Abdul Ghaffar, Habibullah and Zulfiqar, all Katohar by caste, were arrested from the place of firing. Police also recovered two Kalashnikovs, one double barrel shotgun, one TT pistol and huge quantity of ammunitions from their possession.—BoC
