PESHAWAR, Nov 20: NWFP Chief Minister Shamsul Mulk has asked officials to formulate a new development plan for the provincial capital.
He gave the directive at a meeting on development activities held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday, said a handout.
Since the NWFP was the front-line province in the ‘war on terrorism’, it needed more attention vis-a-vis development activities, said the chief minister.
He said Peshawar needed a plan covering both the education and health sectors.
Mr Mulk said the works and services department should have a group of inspectors who took part in the implementation process. Inspection of projects should be carried out as laid down in the prescribed rules.
He also directed officials to accelerate the pace of the ongoing schemes in the city.
Sewage treatment and waste disposal facilities should be set up. The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to submit a comprehensive report in this regard as soon as possible.
