ISLAMABAD, March 27: D.K.Chhetri, secretary Bhutan Olympic Association was the first delegate to arrive here Wednesday for an executive committee meeting of the South Asian Sports Federation (SASF) slated for March 30.
The meeting, which is to decide new dates for the twice- postponed SAF Games, will be attended by delegates of all the nations that form SAARC.
The meeting has gained added significance following news from across the border that the president of Indian Olympic Association, Suresh Kalmadi, will also be discussing a possible resumption of cricketing ties with Pakistan during his stay here.
The SAF Games that were to take place in Islamabad originally in October last year, were postponed in the aftermath of September 11 events and rescheduled for March 2002. However, again the Games had to be put back after India begun amassing troops on its borders with Pakistan that made it impossible for the regional event to go ahead.
