KARAK, Nov 19: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline will have to face a protest campaign if it does not resume work on the supply of gas to the Terri union council by Nov 25, according to a local rights group.
A meeting of the Terri Gas Action Committee was held under its vice-president Usman Khattak, which was attended by a large number of local people. The group said that despite repeated contacts with officials concerned, the work on the gas supply project remained suspended.
Criticising the gas pipeline company for delaying development work, the participants also demanded of the company to provide employment to local people and alleged that the gas companies routinely provided jobs to non-local people, which was injustice with the people of the area.
