KASUR/OKARA, Nov 11: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has changed the route of its ‘Nov 13 long march’ and now the rally will leave Lahore for Kasur. Earlier the march was to begin from Lahore and head toward Gujranwala and then to Islamabad.
PPP Lahore division president Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed said this in a statement issued on Sunday. Mr Ahmed said that PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto would be accorded a warm welcome in Kasur and she would address a public meeting besides praying at the shrine of the sufi poet Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah. He said the march would head towards Depalpur from Kasur and then to Okara.
From Okara, the caravan will leave for Sahiwal. Later, the caravan will leave for Faisalabad and Gujranwala via Nankana and Sheikhupura. He said all arrangements had been completed to make the march a success.
PPP District President MPA Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna said Ms Bhutto would stay overnight in Okara.
