HYDERABAD, Nov 8: The Centre for Rural Development Communication (CRDC) organised two-day gender mainstreaming training programme sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Participants were senior/mid-level advisory staff working in various Sindh government departments.

The programme was inaugurated by Engr Abdul Fatah Tunio and Prof Syed Ibadullah Rashidi.

Director CRDC, Tunio gave an overview of gender issues in Sindh. While the Director CRDC briefed on functions of establishing the CRDC which was the only of its kind in Pakistan.

The certificate awarding ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui on Thursday. He distributed certificates among participants. Addressing the participants, the VC said the Sindh University does not discriminate against women.

Resource persons were Dr Rajab Ali Memon, Ms Amar Sindhi, Prof Imtiaz Pirzada and G.M. Abro. Prof Badar Soomro, course coordinator also delivered lecture on gender, media and human rights. Director CRDC Prof Rashidi presented vote of thanks.
