VEHARI, March 24: The district police on Saturday arrested three dacoits following an hour-long encounter, claiming one of the four fled while another died of cardiac failure in Chak 122/WB.

Acting on a tip-off, the police team raided a hideout near Tiba Sultanpur. The four-member gang resorted to firing which was returned.

The police arrested three of them, claiming one of those escaped while another expired. The other two were identified as Nazir Ahmad and Tariq Abbas.
