MIRPUR, March 24: An eight-member delegation of teachers and councillors from Bradford will reach here on Monday on a week-long official visit of Azad Kashmir.
Led by Bradford Lord Mayor Raja Ghazenfer Khaliq, the delegation comprises Lady Mayor Shehnaz Khaliq, council officers Andrew Meither and Qudrat Shah, Councillor Deured Ward, Legindike High School Headmistress Mrs J. Law, Kerlington Primary School Head-Teacher Mrs Soowed and Peace Justice Mrs Tahir Mahmood, who is leader of UK-Azad Kashmir Friendship Links, it was officially learnt on Sunday.
The delegation will be driven to Mirpur after it reaches Islamabad on Monday. Here, it will attend a reception hosted by People’s Party Azad Kashmir leader Shouket Raja advocate.
On Tuesday, the delegation’s members will attend receptions hosted by former AJK prime minister Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference leader Mohammad Sadeeq Chaudhry advocate, Jinnah Foundation Chairman Dr Mohammad Amin Chaudhry and the District Bar Association President Mir Khalid Mahmood.
They will also visit the local projects of Edhi Welfare Trust and a special children’s school.—APP
