MULTAN, Oct 31: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday awarded 63-year imprisonment and Rs0.56 million fine with a compensation of Rs0.8 million each to the seven people accused of amputating the leg of a woman councillor and chopping off the noses and ears of her two sons over a petty dispute.

The accused, Ashraf, Qasim, Khizar Hayyat, Hashim, Ramzan, Sarfaraz and Aslam had amputated Manzoraan Bibi’s leg and chopped off the ears and noses of her sons Ghulam Yaseen and Muhammad Iqbal.

Plaintiff Muhammad Iqbal had lodged a case with Alpa police on Jan 2, 2007, nominating 24 people.

Judge Ameer Husain Chaudhary of anti-terrorism court No 2 ordered release of the seventeen co-accused for the lake of evidence.
