MOSCOW, Oct 31: Russia’s economy ministry on Wednesday predicted inflation could rise by up to 11 per cent this year, Interfax said, amid popular anger at rising prices ahead of parliamentary elections.

A report issued by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry predicted inflation of between 10.5 and 11 per cent in 2007, up from a previous official estimate of 10 per cent, the news agency reported.—AFP
