HYDERABAD, Oct 26: First meeting of the organising committee for holding second four-day Shaikh Ayaz international conference on language and literature was held on Thursday.
Vice-chancellor Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui who was the chief patron of the conference presided over the meeting. The meeting discussed measures as well as arrangements for the conference.
The conference would held in Nov 2008. It was decided that a website would be launched and all information including registration form and other related schedule regarding the conference would be displayed there.
The meeting while discussing arrangements for the conference decided that a letter would be sent to universities and abroad to extend invitation to the scholars.
The meeting decided that during the four-day conference after its inaugural, different working sessions dedicated to various aspects of language and literature will be held.
It decided that initially the university would provide funds while for financial help a request will be made to HEC to finance the conference.
Chairman of the organising committee, Dr M.Qasim Bughio, informed that 101 papers had been received from scholars of Pakistan and abroad and only 84 papers were accepted.
