LONDON, Oct 24: British boxer Amir Khan was cleared on Tuesday of dangerous driving over an accident last year which left a pedestrian with a broken leg.
Amir, 20, hit 55-year-old Geoffrey Hatton in his BMW convertible on March 2 last year in the town centre of Bolton, northwest England.
The 2004 Olympic silver medallist denied the charges, and the jury agreed with his assertion that his driving was careless but not dangerous.
The reigning Commonwealth lightweight champion is regarded as the best young prospect in British boxing. He is undefeated in 14 professional fights and is tipped to win a world title.—AFP
