FAISALABAD, Oct 24: A security guard, together with his four accomplices, took away Rs4.3 million in cash from a bank branch on Millat Road on Wednesday.

Reports said Israr Khan of Kurram Agency, employed as guard of Al-Habib Bank, along with four accomplices (one of them too was in uniform of a security agency), held up the bankers and escaped with a bagful of cash they collected from lockers. Israr locked the office before taking to the heels.

Sargodha Road police SHO Muhammad Yasir told Dawn that the video footage of surveillance cameras installed at the bank had been obtained and it clearly showed that Israr was the mastermind of the incident. He said the police had launched hunt for the absconders after going into formalities. No case was, however, instituted till last reports came in. — Staff Correspondent
