NEW DELHI, Oct 24: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has said that Pakistan would not allow terrorists to use its land for carrying out terrorist activities. Talking to APP after arriving here on Wednesday to attend Saarc home ministers’ conference starting on Thursday, the minister said Pakistan would attend the conference with a positive mind to tackle terrorism for the benefit of all member states.
He said his country was a frontline state in the war against terrorism and also a victim of terrorist activities which had claimed more than 450 lives this year alone. It would not allow cross-border movement by foreigners in Waziristan, he added.
The conference, he said, was important and Pakistan would interact with other representatives of eight member states to discuss issues relating to terrorism, drug and human trafficking and cooperation among police departments to counter crimes.
At the secretary-level talks on Wednesday, a working paper was prepared to be discussed and adopted by the ministerial meeting on Thursday.—APP
