KASUR, March 22: A robber sustained serious injuries on Friday in an encounter near Behrwal Pul Nehr, Chunian.

Acting on a tip-off that four armed robbers were looting passersby, a police raiding team reached the spot. Taking in the situation, the robbers opened fire on police, but luckily no one hurt. Police also returned the fire, wounding critically one of the robbers, later identified as Mushtaq Ahmad. His three accomplices however managed to escape. The injured outlaw was admitted to a local hospital.
