Aqeel only Pakistani in last-eight

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23: Aqeel Khan is the only Pakistani who has qualified for quarter-finals of the Pakistan Futures International tennis tournament at the PTF Complex on Tuesday.

Aqeel defeated compatriot Tanvir Ashiq 6-1, 6-2, but his younger brother Jalil Khan went down fighting against India’s Ashwin Vijayragavan, who won 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-0.

Besides Aqeel and Ashwin, others who have also qualified for the last-eight are Adam Vejmelka and Harshana Godamanna (Sri Lanka), Bo-Sung Kim and Hyun-Han Lim (South Korea), Bogdan Victor Leonte (Romania) and Alexander Gigitashvili (Russia).
