HYDERABAD: Two killed as train hits jeep

HYDERABAD, March 22: A woman and her grand daughter were killed and three persons injured when a jeep was hit by a train near Tando Allahyar on Friday.

Reports said that a Hyderabad bound train which was coming from Mirpurkhas hit the jeep at a railway crossing resulting in the death of Jamila, 60, wife of Siddique, and Quratulain, 6, daughter of Arif, on the spot.

The injured included Arif s/o Siddique, Samina wife of Arif, and Tooba daughter of Arif.

SHC: Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Friday has disposed of a constitutional petition of a woman, Zainab Kerio, directing police not to harass her.

The petitioner’s counsel requested the court to direct police to furnish list of cases pending against his client.

Respondent SHO of Bhitai Nagar police station, Aijaz Tareen, denied the charges before the court but accused the petitioner of running a den of immoral activities and sheltering criminals.
