LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 19: Office-bearers of citizens’ community boards (CCB) have asked the caretaker Chief Minister of the NWFP, Shamsul Mulk, to take measures for ending political interference in disbursement of development funds among the boards.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, Zangikhel CCB chairman Mohammad Zubair Marwat, Saya CCB president Abdul Hamid Jami and others alleged that funds had been distributed among the boards backed by legislators under the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government.
They alleged that policies of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government in the province had hampered implementation of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) aimed at community participation in development through citizens’ community boards.
They said many boards had been deprived of their share in development funds because of favouritism.
They appealed to the caretaker chief minister to direct the quarters concerned to disburse funds among all the CCBs equally.
