30 prisoners released from jails

FAISALABAD, Oct 18: Around 30 prisoners were released from eight jails in the Faisalabad region with the courtesy of local philanthropists.

Philanthropists arranged Rs452,675 to ensure the release of prisoners. Although prisoners had completed their imprisonment, they could not be released as they were unable to pay fine or compensation. As many as 14 prisoners were released from the district jail, Sargodha, by arranging Rs22,150 while one each was released from the central jail, Faisalabad; the district jail, Jhang; and the district jail, Toba Tek Singh.—APP
