Singapore exports up

SINGAPORE, Oct 17: Singapore’s key exports rose a mild 2.2 per cent in September as higher shipments of pharmaceuticals helped counter a sustained fall in exports of computer parts and other electronic goods, the government said on Wednesday.

The increase in non-oil domestic exports (NODX) was below economists’ forecasts for a gain of between six and 11 per cent.

It followed a gain of 10.9 per cent in August, compared with a year earlier, said the trade promotion body International Enterprise Singapore.—AFP
