NEW DELHI, Oct 9: Uncapped Subramaniam Badrinath will step in for the injured Gautam Gambhir as India bid to draw level with Australia in the ongoing one-day series.

Gambhir missed Monday’s fourth match in Chandigarh – which India won by eight runs to make it 1-2 – due to a groin strain and will miss the remaining three games.

Badrinath, a prolific right-hand batsman in domestic cricket, was called up to join the Indian squad for the fifth match to be played in Vadodara on Thursday.
