SRINAGAR, Oct 8: An alliance of freedom fighters announced a three-day halt to attacks against Indian forces in occupied Kashmir ahead of Eid, media reports said on Monday.

“In view of Eid-ul-Fitr, we have decided to stop attacks against Indian forces from October 12 to October 14,” said a statement from the United Jihad Council faxed to Current News Service.

The UJC has observed cease-fires over holidays in the past.—AP
